
Raymond Heally
Raymond is an associate who joined the firm in 2023 after completing his law degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He has developed a well-rounded appreciation of diverse legal areas, having worked across the various legal departments under the Partnership's supervision and direction.
He has experience in civil litigation ranging from the institution of proceedings to the execution of judgments, and from appeals to reviews. His experience has stemmed from his handling of debt collection portfolios for various clients.
In the company and commercial department, he has experience in Company Secretarial work which involves registration and re-registration of companies and the drafting and filing of all statutory returns. He also provides legal advice on labour, contract drafting and reviewing (joint venture agreements, share purchase and subscription agreements, shareholders agreements, disposal of major assets, purchase and supply agreements, debt restricting agreements), due diligence, arbitration of disputes as well commercial litigation. Raymond also has a keen interest in cross-border transactions and investments and international trade.
He is in the process of becoming a certified Data Protection Officer which he believes will allow him to offer full-house corporate services to his clients.
Raymond has a keen interest in property law, ranging from Conveyancing to Debt Securitisation (mortgages, caveats, registration of interests in the ownership of movable assets on the RBZ Collateral Registry). He also has an interest in the administration of estates, more particularly the drafting of wills and registration of Trusts.
Apart from advisory and litigation, Raymond also provides family law services such as representing clients in maintenance, custody, guardianship and divorce cases.
