Trust has been in practice for over 23 years. He started his practice in 2003 as a professional assistant, with Wintertons, quickly establishing himself as a consummate litigation attorney. He became a partner of the firm in 2006. He is one of the most highly regarded dispute resolution practitioners in Zimbabwe, and leads the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution department.
He leverages on his extensive experience and knowledge of procedure in the superior courts, in complex general and commercial litigation and in commercial arbitration, to provide lasting solutions and value to clients, both as counsel and arbitrator.
Trust’s clients include two of the biggest mining concerns in the country, three of the top ten financial institutions in the country, the largest leading real estate and property development franchise in the country, various investment companies and a significant number of small to medium companies cutting across all sectors of the economy and some of the most respected individuals in business and the country.
Some of his recent significant work includes, advising one of the biggest pension funds in a proposed investment in a local US$35m hydro-electric project, successfully representing an unlisted local mining company in litigation for damages arising from breach of a mining contract in the sum of US$1.5 million, representing a locally listed mining concern in their litigation claim for damages arising out of illegal mining in the sum of US$2.5 million, defending an international media company against a suit to establish jurisdiction for a US$2 million claim in High Court of Zimbabwe.
